Greece: hospitality students learn the importance of effective risk assessment with OiRA tools

The Department of Tourism Management of the University of West Attica, in cooperation with the Greek national focal point, provides an online OiRA (Online interactive Risk Assessment) training seminar for students and teaching personnel on 29 November 2022, with emphasis on the tools especially developed for the hotel, café and restaurant (HORECA) sectors.

Attendees will first be introduced to the basic principles of occupational safety and health (OSH), the national OSH system and relevant legislation. The prevention and management of psychosocial risks at work, of great importance for the HORECA sector, will also be addressed.

An online live training workshop will follow: “How to conduct a risk assessment study with an OiRA tool”, using as an example the two OiRA tools of great interest for the current students, who will be future managers in the tourism industry.

The seminar will be supported by Napo episodes regarding the use of an OiRA tool, as well as episodes on various OSH risks related to this specific sector of economic activity.

The OiRA project provides free, sector-specific solutions to guide employers through the risk assessment process. Learn more about other OiRA tools developed in Greece.
