Occupational safety and health (OSH) is critical to the smooth running of any business. To help employees within Greek micro, small and medium-sized businesses undertake the role of Safety Technician, the Greek focal point is organising a training on 15 December to introduce the key concepts involved in maintaining a healthy workplace.

The session begins with an overview of the main principles of OSH in the context of Greek national legislation, in addition to a guide to identifying hazards and risk factors. The second half of the session introduces Napo, EU-OSHA’s cartoon hero, and provides more information on the range of supporting resources available, such as the Napo website and the accompanying collection of short films. Finally, the event concludes with a guide to EU-OSHA’s Online Interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tool, which can help businesses identify and manage workplace risks, before offering a practical demonstration of how the tool can be accessed and used to produce an online risk assessment study.

The event is open to owners of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Greece who wish to improve their knowledge of managing safety and health in the workplace. The speaker, Dr. Ioannis Konstantakopoulos, Head of the Department of the National Focal Point & OSH Promotion Policies, Hellenic Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, leads the event.
