The OiRA sectoral tools provided here are to enable micro and small enterprises to carry out risk assessments. The tools are free to download and can be easily accessed by clicking on the relevant link. Office work - updated tool version

This is the updated version of the Italian office tool. The former version will still be available until end December 2020 on the webpage of the Italian authorities, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the National Institute for Workers' Compensation. New risk assessments should however only be done with this new version. All risk assessments done with the former version are also still available under each individual account when logging in.

The building construction sector which is mainly made up of micro and small companies registers high levels of work accidents. This sector is characterized by several risk factors, such as working at heights, moving loads, handling machinery and work equipment, the presence of dust and other hazardous chemicals, improper posture, noise and vibration, as well as adverse weather conditions. Accidents usually occur due to unsafe conditions and / or actions. This tool aims to contribute to an improvement of working conditions in the building construction sector, as it allows for an assessment of existing risks and suggests measures to be implemented to control these risks and produces an action plan to be implemented at the workplace.

The agricultural sector has high levels of occupational accidents throughout the Portuguese territory, consisting mainly of small farms. Accidents generally occur due to improper machinery, unprotected moving parts, overconfidence of operators, lack of proper training and disregard for the correct use of safety devices and safety instructions provided by manufacturers. In addition, workers in the sector are subject to various risks related to the lack of use of appropriate protective equipment, the handling of hazardous chemicals, high physical effort and adverse environmental conditions, among others. Correct risk assessment of existing hazards using this tool can prevent many of them and help the employer implement the appropriate solutions for their elimination / control.

Bakers / confectioners work in facilities where bread, cakes, fresh pastries, snacks (fried, tender dough and puff pastry) and regional confectionery are made. Their work is demanding and is carried out under difficult environmental conditions. The work is mostly performed under artificial light, at high temperatures accompanied by variations in humidity, in the presence of breathable particles, explosive atmospheres and excessive noise. The existence of night work, exposure to biological agents and manual handling of cargo are other risk factors present in the manufacture of bakery / pastry products naturally affecting all who work there. Thus, this OiRA tool addresses the main hazards that exist in the various work areas, from receiving raw materials to storing and shipping final products. The tool also addresses issues associated with emergencies, psychosocial and stress risks, as well as structural, environmental and occupational safety and health management hazards / risks. It allows an assessment of existing risks, suggests measures to control those risks and also produces an action plan to be implemented.
