This tool is intended mainly for small and micro-employers to assess the risk in the production of plants in the nursery or greenhouse as well as outdoors. It covers a broad variety of risks such as slips, trips and falls, unfavorable climatic conditions, psychosocial risks, ergonomic risks related to static body postures and much more.

The EU tool for the agricultural sector was developed by the EU Social Partners Geopa and EFFAT with the support of EU-OSHA to facilitate the assessment of occupational safety and health (OSH) risks in the sector and take preventive and effective action. Risks related to handling animals (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats), fruit and vegetable cultivation as well as risks related to pesticides, agricultural vehicles, working in confined spaces, working at heights and with heavy machinery, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), and psychosocial issues are among the many risks farmers and agricultural workers face on a daily basis.
