This tool is intended for companies that perform construction work outdoors (e.g. work on roof, insultation works, decoration and restoration of facades). Construction in general is a sector characterised by multiple risk factors, including falling of workers and objects, exposure to dust and fibres, noise, vibration, weather conditions unsuitable for work, work in awkward postures and heavy object lifting and moving. It starts with the identification of hazards and it assesses the level of risk, allowing end-users to choose the most suitable preventive actions to eliminate or reduce the risk(s). The tool also includes safety requirements for scaffolding and personal protective equipment for fall prevention, tips on ergonomics, protection of respiratory system and safe use of work equipment. These allow employees to protect themselves from accidents resulting from falls from heights and, at the same level, to reduce the load for the back and joints, as well as to introduce the main principles of fire protection and so on. This tool is an easy way to improve working conditions for workers in the construction sector and its use can contribute to keep them healthy, motivated and with good work ability.
