This tool is intended mainly for small and micro-employers to assess the risk in the production of plants in the nursery or greenhouse as well as outdoors. A broad range of hazards is addressed including the falls from height, chemical hazards when using pesticides, biological hazards when working in the field or outside the nursery, unfavorable climatic conditions, as well as ergonomic risks due to uncomfortable positions or manual handling of loads.

Forestry - Saw operator

This tool helps to assess the risk while working outdoor on forest sites, e.g. while felling trees and moving tree trunks. It is intended mostly for micro and small companies, but it can also be used by large forestry companies. The tool covers a broad variety of risks, including risks when operating a chainsaw and tractor, falls from height, risks related to overturning knocked down trees on slippery and uneven terrain, biological hazards due to forest work (ticks and other animals), harmful noise and vibration effects, unfavorable climatic conditions as well as ergonomic risks due to prolonged static body positions or manual handling of loads.

The EU tool for the agricultural sector was developed by the EU Social Partners Geopa and EFFAT with the support of EU-OSHA to facilitate the assessment of occupational safety and health (OSH) risks in the sector and take preventive and effective action. Risks related to handling animals (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats), fruit and vegetable cultivation as well as risks related to pesticides, agricultural vehicles, working in confined spaces, working at heights and with heavy machinery, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), and psychosocial issues are among the many risks farmers and agricultural workers face on a daily basis.
