This tool helps identify and evaluate risks while working on the manufacture and sale of optical aids. It is intended mostly for micro and small companies. A broad variety of hazards is covered by the tools, such as ergonomic risks due to prolonged static postures, psychosocial risks due to work with demanding clients and much more.

This tool is intended for small employers, which are specialized to offer the service of building maintenance, to assess risks in performing such activities, as well as for larger employers for the purpose of making a risk assessment of the caretakers’ activities (for example, in retirement homes, schools, kindergartens, shopping malls, etc.).  It entails all hazards, harms and efforts, especially mechanical hazards when handling hand-held power tools, hazards of falls and collapses, hazards of electricity (for electricians), and psychosocial risks due to working with demanding clients.

This tool serves for risk assessment when working in pedicure salons. It is mainly intended for micro and small companies and covers a broad variety of risks including slips, trips and falls, ergonomic risks due to prolonged static body postures as well as psychosocial risks and much more.

Employees, crews, performers and all other staff involved in audiovisual productions are constantly exposed to risks that can lead to injuries and other health repercussions. This tool is intended to anyone who aims to assess the health and safety risks related to audiovisual productions such as feature films, short films, documentaries, television series, commercials, video clips, video art, virtual reality and so on. The EU OiRA tool is the result of the project titled “Developing an Online Interactive Risk Assessment tool for film and TV productions” and was developed in a cooperation between the European Social partners of the sector, the European Coordination of Independent Producers (CEPI), the International Federation of Actors (FIA), the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) and UNI Europa - media, entertainment & arts and with the support of EU-OSHA.

The tool has been developed for and by the sector. During the development of the Belgian tool 'OiRA Immo’, the potential risks associated with the real estate sector have been analysed and have shown that companies and their workers need to be more attentive to the risks in their business. The tool is adapted to the specific characteristics of the sector. On the one hand there is an extensive module on office work, but on the other hand there are also modules with specific attention for the safety and health of employees who work on site (cleaning, management and maintenance of buildings). In addition to identifying the risks, solutions are provided to manage them. The tool contributes to better and safer working conditions in the sector which will lead to healthy and motivated workers.

Beauticians are exposed to a number of work-related risks such as uncomfortable working positions, repetitive movements, biological hazards (possibility of infection from clients), dealing with chemicals, psychosocial risks etc. This tool is intended for beauticians to easily identify and assess risks, and apply preventive measures for risk prevention and reduction.

OiRA tool for electrical work is a great tool for general risk assessment when doing electrical work. This tool is mainly focused on basic electrical work and is designed for small or medium sized companies. This tool does not replace more complex risk assessments for bigger or more complex projects were there are very high safety standards. But it´s a great tool as a basic risk assessment for companies without access to any risk assessments. Installation and maintenance of elevators is work that goes along with high demands and responsibilities as well as hazards such as working in confined spaces, working on electrical installations, dealing with heavy objects etc. This tool is meant to support micro and small enterprises in the sector in the identification of health and safety risks during elevator maintenance and installation. It allows companies to choose the most suitable preventive and protective actions to eliminate or reduce them. These preventive measures include tips on ergonomics, work equipment, personal protective equipment, etc. The tools helps employers to comply with the requirements of the applicable national OSH legislation and to protect their employees through a process of continuous improvement of their implementation. The tool covers risk factors related to the work of the office staff on the premises of the company, the technical staff involved in the installation and maintenance of elevators both within the company premises and the workplaces of third parties (customers), as well as to the operations of the subcontractors providing specific services.
