OiRA tool for electrical work is a great tool for general risk assessment when doing electrical work. This tool is mainly focused on basic electrical work and is designed for small or medium sized companies.This tool does not replace more complex risk assessments for bigger or more complex projects were there are very high safety standards. But it´s a great tool as a basic risk assessment for companies without access to any risk assessments.This project is a collaboration between Rafmennt and the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health in Iceland. The primary purpose of the Icelandic version of the agricultural OiRA tool is to help farmers to improve their working conditions and minimise risk at the farm. It is easy to use, free and open to all. With OiRA, users get a tool in their hands that helps them to assess the risks in their own work environment. The tool evaluates the risks and returns the results in a report that is only to be seen and used by the farmer or workers at the farm. The tool sets out proposals and examples of improvements in the working environment. There are also references to laws and regulations, number of images for explanation and links to more informative material. Emphasis is placed on fire and accident prevention and handling of machines. Health factors are assessed and risk by infectious diseases is discussed. The general condition of the farm is assessed since it is a part of potential risk factors which have to be taken into consideration. Also included are tips for prevention of accidents related to work with animals, reduce workload on back and joints and instructions to eliminate fall risks. Proper health and safety risk assessments done with the Oira tool, can prevent many accidents and help the employer to find proper solutions.

This sector is characterized by multiple risk factors such as: working in awkward postures, dealing with car elevators and heavy object lifting and moving, dealing with dangerous substances, such as chemicals, dust etc., being exposed to noise, dust and many more. Vehicles repair garages can find here an easy and straight forward way to do their risk assessment for the protection of their workers, in compliance with the requirements of the applicable national OSH legislation. The tool starts with the identification of hazards and assesses the level of risk. Following that it allows companies to choose the most suitable preventive actions to eliminate or reduce risk. These preventive measures include tips on ergonomics, work equipment, personal protective equipment, accidents resulting from slipping, the load for the back and joints, the emergency situations etc. The use of the tool improves the OSH working conditions for workers in the vehicles repair garages and contributes to keep them healthy, motivated and with good work ability.

This on-line, interactive Risk Assessment tool, by covering a broad range of educational institutions from primary school to secondary education, helps to identify and assess occupational risks of those working in educational institutions and to determine the appropriate measures to eliminate or control them properly. The tool is primarily meant to prevent any accidents and work related health conditions of the teachers in compliance with the applicable national OSH legislation but it also covers other professions working in educational institutions, such as care takers, cleaning personnel, canteen workers, etc. In addition, it is ensuring the safety and health of pupils/students who are present on a daily basis in the school environment and due to this fact, the pedagogical dimension of the tool is of high importance, for the development of an OSH education and the fostering of an OSH risks prevention culture not only among the teachers but among the current pupils/students, the workers and employers of tomorrow.

The OiRA tool for conducting a Risk Assessment study in the field of natural mastiha processing and production of a range of different mastiha-based products - a world's unique natural raisin produced exclusively in the southern part of the island of Chios - aims to protect the safety and health of workers from the hazards in their working environment, such as the hazards associated to the use of sharp tools, to repetitive movements of the upper limbs, to the continuous sedentary work, to musculoskeletal problems or hazards associated to the equipment used for cleaning, separating and treating processes of the natural mastiha raisin, as well as to the packaging and distribution equipment for the various mastiha products.The identification and assessment of these hazards and their associated risks and then, in a next phase, the development of an action plan with all the necessary protection and prevention measures through this specialized, online, interactive RA tool is expected to make a decisive contribution to the continuous improvement of the working conditions and the working environment and to the intended reduction in the numbers of the occupational accidents and the work-related diseases in the particular business sector.It is worthy to note that the systematic and effective management of occupational risks on the basis of prevention, is a matter of top priority for the cooperative Association of the Mastiha Producers in the island of Chios. This association is the collective expression of 20 primary cooperatives from the 24 mastiha-villages covering in appr. 4.500 local small family businesses of mastiha-trees cultivation and its main activity is the collection, processing and marketing of the natural raisin (named mastiha) and the production and marketing of its wide range of products (the most important of them awarded with the label of “Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) products”).
