Employees, crews, performers and all other staff involved in audiovisual productions are constantly exposed to risks that can lead to injuries and other health repercussions. This tool is intended to anyone who aims to assess the health and safety risks related to audiovisual productions such as feature films, short films, documentaries, television series, commercials, video clips, video art, virtual reality and so on. The EU OiRA tool is the result of the project titled “Developing an Online Interactive Risk Assessment tool for film and TV productions” and was developed in a cooperation between the European Social partners of the sector, the European Coordination of Independent Producers (CEPI), the International Federation of Actors (FIA), the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) and UNI Europa - media, entertainment & arts and with the support of EU-OSHA.

The tool has been developed for and by the sector. During the development of the Belgian tool 'OiRA Immo’, the potential risks associated with the real estate sector have been analysed and have shown that companies and their workers need to be more attentive to the risks in their business. The tool is adapted to the specific characteristics of the sector. On the one hand there is an extensive module on office work, but on the other hand there are also modules with specific attention for the safety and health of employees who work on site (cleaning, management and maintenance of buildings). In addition to identifying the risks, solutions are provided to manage them. The tool contributes to better and safer working conditions in the sector which will lead to healthy and motivated workers.

OiRA tool for electrical work is a great tool for general risk assessment when doing electrical work. This tool is mainly focused on basic electrical work and is designed for small or medium sized companies. This tool does not replace more complex risk assessments for bigger or more complex projects were there are very high safety standards. But it´s a great tool as a basic risk assessment for companies without access to any risk assessments. Installation and maintenance of elevators is work that goes along with high demands and responsibilities as well as hazards such as working in confined spaces, working on electrical installations, dealing with heavy objects etc. This tool is meant to support micro and small enterprises in the sector in the identification of health and safety risks during elevator maintenance and installation. It allows companies to choose the most suitable preventive and protective actions to eliminate or reduce them. These preventive measures include tips on ergonomics, work equipment, personal protective equipment, etc. The tools helps employers to comply with the requirements of the applicable national OSH legislation and to protect their employees through a process of continuous improvement of their implementation. The tool covers risk factors related to the work of the office staff on the premises of the company, the technical staff involved in the installation and maintenance of elevators both within the company premises and the workplaces of third parties (customers), as well as to the operations of the subcontractors providing specific services.

The apparently routine activities of the Real Estate Agencies, in fact, pose hazards and harbor risks from many different sources. Besides the traditional ones, related to office work, risks may also arise from contacts with various clients and viewing and visiting sites, including ones under construction. Finally yet importantly, there exist risks related to road accidents and to exposure to biological agents, sometimes present in already occupied properties.In line with the above-said characteristics of the activity, this OiRA tool allows to evaluate the risks inherent in the business in a user-friendly manner and to set appropriate measures for their elimination / minimization.

This OiRA tool includes the usual work of electrician. Work space of electrician is specific. Work is done outside or in the building, where inside conditions depend on the object being operated. Electrician work encompasses several phases from basic wiring to final assembly. When the tasks are carried out in the unoccupied building, electrician is often exposed to a severe cold and draught. Electrician is exposed to a several risks such as burns caused by electricity, extreme low temperatures, repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, working on heights, chances of eye injury due to the flying objects, slips, falls, dangerous goods and toxic biological substances due to the animal feces. The purpose of the online tool OiRA for painters and façade workers is for employees and employers to remind each other of dangers, collaborate, and give each other advice to make a safer workplace for employees.
